Zoë Lyons is a New York singer/songwriter. Her first CD of original songs received two acknowledgements in Billboard magazine. In the Billboard Grammy Issue 2000 she was described by writer Larry Flint as one of the “unsigned acts that deserves to be in the race…for record of the year.” While working on her degree in Business/Marketing at Northeastern University in Boston, Zoë lived a double life as the lead vocalist in a comedy band called the Swinging Erudites which released 2 LPs and a 12 inch dance single which won the group a Boston Music Award for best Independent Record of the Year and a # 6 hit on the Billboard Dance Charts. The record was played on major radio stations all over the U.S. and in Europe. Zoë then moved on to her next project, “Clique In the 3rd Planet,” releasing a 12 inch dance single and was later signed to Epic Records. While pursuing her solo career, Zoë has also been the vocalist for several TV/Radio commercials for companies such as Disney, Showtime, Chevrolet, and Poland Spring. She was the lead vocalist and co-writer for the title track for Disney’s “Darkwing Duck”series on Disney Afternoons.
Currently, Zoë is working on her next CD with her husband, bassist Gary Nieves, and performing with her band Gotham at venues in the tri-state area.
