Life has led Britt Hall down many paths since leaving his home state of Florida for New York City in 1989. After wearing an array of hats on the journey (actor, singer, model, director, producer, teacher, counselor, personal fitness trainer, banker, maitre d’…) Britt finally realized the passionate thread of his life since childhood is music. With his focus earlier in life as an athlete and musician (piano, trumpet and saxophone), Britt didn’t begin his career as a performer until after attending college, first at Troy State University followed by his beloved University of Florida.
After moving to New York, Britt graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. As an actor, he has performed in plays and musicals in New York and around the country. His work includes film, television, cabaret and recordings. As a commercial print model Britt’s likeness has shown up around the globe---from magazines to billboards, buses to airplanes.
“Although it was my career that brought me to New York, the moment I arrived I knew I was home.” Britt’s physical home led him to his spiritual home, Unity of New York…a Spiritual Center for Creative Living where he is the Founding Director of their internationally recognized and renowned Music Ministry. He leads the magnificent Unity of New York choir, Voices In Unity, and is not only an original member of highly regarded Spiritus vocal ensemble, he is also the director.
He has created, produced and directed numerous concerts and events. With friend and songwriter David Friedman, Britt played a key role in the collaboration and publishing of the inspirational book and accompanying CD, Badge of Courage, written by Barbara Raven, read/recorded by Oscar-winning actress Patricia Neal, music by David Friedman and sung by Spiritus. He has shared the stage with artists such as Ben Vereen, JoAnne Worley, the late Ruth Warrick, Donna McKechnie and spiritual luminaries Wayne Dyer, Marianne Williamson, John Shelby Spong, Arun Gandhi and Michael Beckwith, to name a few. Britt recently worked alongside Emmy-winning producer Steve Ivey, IMI music, to produce the latest Spiritus release, We Are One.
Britt’s music ministry is at the center of his heart and life. He is honored to be the leader of so many talented individuals and to have the blessed opportunities to work with people he has admired for many years. He is living proof that you can create what you want in your life and have an amazing time while doing it. “I love what I do and life just gets better and better because of it.”
His work has received praise from around the world and has led him to share his ministry as a speaker and musical artist throughout the United States. In 2010, Britt plans to graduate from Unity School in Missouri as a Licensed Unity Teacher/Spiritual Leader.
